Testimonials

Leadership Longmont exceeded my expectations in the best possible way. The behind-the-scenes access to local businesses, organizations, and City of Longmont operations was both fascinating and invaluable – a rare opportunity to truly understand how our community works. Most importantly, the connections I formed with fellow participants will have a lasting impact on my work and engagement in Longmont.

Just overall a great experience! As a long-time government employee, and sustainability professional, it was really good for me to mix it up with the types of people I interact with, perspectives I am exposed to, and experiences I am immersed it. It was so different than my typical professional development type activities and, as a relatively new Longmonsters, I felt like the entire experience brought me a new understanding of the community.

The Longmont Leadership Program is an opportunity to learn about our community leaders, programs and facilities that aren’t normally accessible to the public. Participants have the opportunity to demonstrate their leadership skills as well as enhance them through robust discussions and interactions with a variety of leaders in the community.

Leadership Longmont really opened my eyes to the process of making Longmont a better place and the commitment and dedication it takes to get there. Making change requires networking and group participation and advocating for a cause.

I truly have a better understanding of who to contact and the processes to make change in order for Longmont to continue to advance and grow. This was not a classroom setting, it was “real” life experience and has been so ever valuable and life changing.

The class helped me learn to network better. It also underscored how different people are in general and how leadership styles need to be dynamic to serve as many people as possible.
