We Speak

Longmont

Longmont has long had a pioneering spirit, a bootstrapping mentality, and a nationally recognized innovative drive. In 2018 alone, Longmont was recognized as having the fastest internet in the country, was named the 2nd best city in America for STEM workers, and received for the second time the prestigious All-American City Award, having previously won in 2006.

A Growing Community

When Longmont was founded in 1871, the population was  fewer than 400 people and the economy relied entirely on agriculture. In the 150 years since, the population has grown to nearly 100,000 and our ambitions have grown with it. Longmont is truly ahead of the curve in technological innovation with the second highest number of patents per capita of any city in the nation. Though the community is growing, Longmont has retained its classic small-town feel.

The Chamber Community

In joining the Longmont Area Chamber of Commerce, you are joining a network of more than 750 businesses. Member businesses are eager to make connections, grow their businesses, and in doing so, grow the economy of area. All members have access to a number of opportunities by which they can connect to our growing community.

Beyond the Chamber

Our community extends beyond our members. The Longmont Area Chamber of Commerce represents business as one of 13 entities in the Advance Longmont Partnership. The Advance Longmont partners collaborate to execute a strategy that assists Longmont in recruiting and retaining quality businesses, improving the local business climate, increasing entrepreneurial opportunities, and optimizing the organizational effectiveness of local economic development efforts.

Community Strong

The Longmont Area Chamber of Commerce is proud to work with the amazing education partners we have in this community. We work closely with the St. Vrain Valley School District to increase business engagement in the classroom. Businesses in turn get a preview of the incoming workforce and the changing demands of hiring in the 21st century. The Longmont Chamber bridges the gap between business and education and piloted a program to connect teachers to opportunities in the business community for interns, volunteering in classrooms, and mentorship. This project is now a St. Vrain Valley School District initiative called Community Strong.
