Unity: Returning August 23rd

We’ve had a lot of phone calls recently about Unity in the Community, and every caller has had the same question: When is Unity in the Community? Normally, at this point in the year, invitations would have been sent, booths would have been reserved, and a list of elected officials and candidates for office would be growing. However, this year is different.

With the closing of the Plaza Convention Center, home to Unity in the Community for more than 10 years, the Longmont Chamber team has had to do a bit of creative re-organization. Historically, this event has been held in February, but without the Plaza, there is simply no venue in town large enough to hold more than 1,000 guests and 80 booths. We have decided to move the event outdoors, but if you have been at Unity in the Community in the past, you’ll recall how terrible the weather has been no matter which day we designated in February.

With any luck, we’ll break the bad weather streak this August 23rd. Unity in the Community 2019 will be an outdoor festival in downtown Longmont, stretching over a couple of blocks. We will have a more specialized location designated for our elected officials to be introduced. In partnership with the Longmont Downtown Development Authority, we will be bringing our members and the greater community a fun and unforgettable farewell to summer.

More information will be made available soon about the price and benefits of booth space, and information about sponsorship is already available in our sponsorship packet. We are thrilled to announce our partnership with High Plains Bank, presenting sponsor of Unity in the Community! High Plains Bank, located in downtown Longmont, is a community bank owned and operated by fellow Longmonsters.
