Longmont Dance Theatre to host Murder Mystery Fundraiser

Longmont Dance Theatre will host a Murder Mystery fundraiser on Sunday, July 26, 2015 at the historic Dickens Opera House in Longmont, CO. The plot of the story will be based on the real-life events surrounding the location’s namesake, W.H. Dickens, whose murder in 1914 remains unsolved to this day.

▪ WHO: Longmont Dance Theatre is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing classical ballet performances for the community.

▪ WHAT: Longmont Dance Theatre is proud to present “Murder at the Dickens Tavern.” This interactive event will feature a performance of La Sylphide by Longmont Dance Theatre Academy Students and guest artist Matthew Helms, as well as a murder mystery event. W.H. Pickens is a wealthy entrepreneur and philanthropist, eager to bring culture to the sleepy town of Longmont. His Opera House is built to satisfy just such a need. It becomes the hub of culture in Boulder County, until an unexpected tragedy turns Longmont upside down. Help Sheriff Booter put together the clues to the unsolved murder. Join the saloon girl, the attorney, the businessman, the fortune teller, the convict, and the relatives of W.H. Pickens for a night of drama, based on a real-life event that occurred in 1914. Tickets include entrance to the event, appetizers, and a silent auction with numerous items donated from area businesses. The Dickens Tavern will provide a cash bar throughout the event.
